Help your child walk into their DSA interview with clarity, confidence, and composure.

DSA interview preparation for Primary and Secondary students

Many students have the talent, the interests, and the genuine strengths a DSA panel looks for. What holds them back is not potential. It is not knowing how to express it clearly under pressure. This programme closes that gap.

SuperMinds offers private DSA interview coaching for Primary and Secondary students in Singapore, for DSA into Secondary School and DSA into JC. Four one-on-one sessions, from S$698, near Tanjong Pagar MRT.

What parents of DSA candidates often notice.

Your child has the experience and potential. The challenge is getting it across.

Many students have genuine strengths, real achievements, and something meaningful to offer. But when they sit in front of an interviewer or join a group discussion with unfamiliar peers, something gets in the way.

01
When the moment comes

They go blank under pressure.

They know what they want to say at home. In front of an interviewer, the words disappear. The pressure of a real DSA selection setting is different from any other situation they have practised for.

02
When they have too much to say

They ramble or lose structure.

Some children have plenty to say but have not yet learned how to organise their thoughts before speaking. Their answers come out rushed, vague, or longer than they need to be.

03
When preparation works against them

They sound rehearsed

Children who over-prepare often sound mechanical. They recite answers rather than speak them. Interviewers notice the difference, and it works against the child.

04
When the content is there but the delivery is not.

They undersell their genuine strengths.

Some children have real experiences and meaningful achievements but struggle to talk about them in a way that lands. The content is there. The delivery is not yet.

How SuperMinds prepares your child for DSA.

Private coaching that builds the real skill DSA interviews are looking for.

DSA interviewers are not looking for rehearsed answers. They are looking for students who can think clearly, speak genuinely, and handle pressure with composure. Those are communication skills, and they are learnable.

SuperMinds DSA interview preparation works in two parts. The private coaching sessions give your child one-on-one attention on their specific gaps, whether that is confidence, structure, content, or composure. They practise in a safe environment where making mistakes and improving is the whole point. Their answers are shaped to sound like them, not a template.

What changes after DSA interview preparation with SuperMinds.

What your child will be able to do by the end of the programme.

DSA interviewers are not assessing how much your child knows. They are assessing how well your child can think on their feet, talk about themselves honestly, and hold up under pressure. These are learnable skills. By the end of this programme, your child will have practised them enough that they become natural.

The coach behind SuperMinds DSA preparation.

Be coached by someone who understands what DSA interviewers are looking for.

Iwan Yang has spent over a decade coaching students and professionals across Singapore and Asia in communication, presentation, and interview skills. He understands what DSA interviewers are assessing: not rehearsed answers, but the genuine ability to think clearly and express honestly under pressure.

The SuperMinds DSA interview preparation programme is built on the same method Iwan has applied across thousands of coaching sessions. It is adapted specifically for primary and secondary students navigating the DSA process, with the emotional intelligence to work with children who are nervous, uncertain, or simply not yet used to talking about themselves.
Every SuperMinds programme reflects his approach. Structured enough to give children a foundation. Personal enough to meet every child where they are, and draw out the voice they already have.

DSA Interview Preparation
Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about DSA interview preparation.

What is DSA interview preparation?

DSA stands for Direct School Admission. It is a process that allows Primary 6 students to apply to secondary schools based on their talents and strengths, before the PSLE results are released.

DSA interview preparation is coaching that helps Primary 5 and 6 students communicate more clearly, confidently, and composedly in DSA selection settings. Most students have the experiences and genuine strengths. The challenge is expressing them well under pressure. The SuperMinds DSA interview preparation programme works on exactly that, through private one-on-one coaching sessions designed around each child's specific gaps.

When should my child start DSA interview preparation?

As early as possible. Most DSA exercises and interviews happen in the second half of Primary 6, but preparation is most effective when it begins with enough time to practise and refine. If your child is in Primary 5, starting early gives them more room to grow. If they are in Primary 6, we can still work with the time available. WhatsApp us at +65 6602 8262 to discuss your child's timeline.

My child is shy and gets nervous in interviews. Will this work for them?

Yes. Many of the students who benefit most from this programme are exactly like that. Shyness and nerves are not obstacles to preparation. They are part of what the coaching addresses. The sessions are private and one-on-one, so your child never has to perform in front of peers before they are ready. Progress happens in a calm, low-pressure environment where making mistakes is part of the process.

Do you guarantee results?

We do not make guarantees about DSA outcomes. Too many factors sit outside any coaching programme's control, including the school's selection criteria, the number of available places, and the competition on the day. What we can say honestly is this: every child who completes the programme leaves with stronger answers, greater composure, and a clearer sense of how to talk about themselves. That improvement is real, regardless of the final result.

Is Session 1 conducted online?

Yes. The first session is conducted online. This is the diagnostic and positioning session, where we identify your child's current level, uncover their experiences and strengths, and map out the focus for the remaining sessions. Sessions 2, 3, and 4 can be in-person at 250 Tanjong Pagar Road, St Andrew's Centre, #04-01, Singapore 088541, near Tanjong Pagar MRT, or online based on your preference.

How do I register?

Fill in the registration form on this page or WhatsApp us directly at +65 6602 8262. We recommend reaching out via WhatsApp first to confirm your child's DSA timeline and check availability before registering. SuperMinds is located at 250 Tanjong Pagar Road, St Andrew's Centre, #04-01, Singapore 088541, a 5-minute walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station (EW15), Exit A.
